I am a practitioner and advocate of the Liquid Dance form, and am involved with its growth, development, and preservation.  Liquid dancers manipulate virtual objects and express technological metaphors through their bodies.  Understanding these frameworks and practices helps with understanding VR / AR interaction design patterns because the problem sets are so similar.

From 2011 to 2014 I built a series of ten video tutorials on how to dance liquid.  These tutorials focus on the fundamental mechanics and principles of Liquid Dance, which is one of the major influences of Gloving, a newer form of dance.

In 2013, I co-hosted make space make sense — an 9 episode series of round table discussions that covered various topics of liquid dance.  For each episode the hosts invited a new guest to speak to their expertise.

In 2013, I co-authored "Expressing Technological Metaphors in Dance Using Structural Illusion from Embodied Motion," a paper on how technological metaphors are integral to certain forms of urban dance, namely Liquid, Tutting, and Digitz.
