Rendering the digital in free-standing, real 3d space
I’m the inventor and a core member of the award-winning Lumarca. Lumarca is an open-source, highly scalable, low-cost volumetric display -- no glasses required. In 2012 the Lumarca team built the world’s largest volumetric display with a field of 30′ x 30′ x 20′.
The core team has exhibited it over 20 times around the world, including a build that was the largest volumetric display ever built. We’ve also published a featured Instructable and a couple libraries, which have helped other international artists build and create their own exhibitions.
Lumarca is the winner of the Red Bull "Create the Future" award.
Shortly after my involvement ceased in 2016, Lumarca was featured in the New York Times.
More information about the project can be found at the Lumarca Website.
